Gavin grew up in the UK and became a promising scratch golfer at a young age. Through entertaining members and friends on and around the golf course, he managed to create sufficient funds to support his highly successful amateur golfing career before deciding that Professional teaching was the way to develop his career.

 

Having worked in the golf industry in both Australia and New Zealand, Gavin moved to Gran Canaria in 2006 where he began his position as golf instructor at Lopesan Golf Academy. 2008, he was given the Director of Instruction at the academy. For his own development, Gavin has attended seminars with David Leadbetter, Annika Sorenstam, Hank Haney & Lorena Ochoa to develop his technical and mental skills with the focus on teaching elite performance golfers.

 

Gavin's approach is a very simple model and although technical, his feeling and view points is that we teach the individual using a variety of different teaching techniques from clear explanation, lots of demonstration, training aids to improve feel and also the use of state-of-the-art video technology systems. Gavin feels using video analysis greatly improves the visual learning process and allows the student to see exactly what he is trying to get them to do.

 

I can adapt our programmes to suit your individual needs whether you're a complete beginner or a top professional. My aim for all my students is that we have fun. I will imrove your game so that you get the same enjoyment I do from the game of golf.
